If you send it to him alone you’ll get a speedy response / Drop it in and let it go

Wednesday 28th April 2010 – Pastor Mark Ballosingh

Every action taken in the realm of Faith has an equal reaction.

Psalm 37 4:5 – Delight thyself also in the Lord and he shall give thee the desires of thine heart. Commit thy way unto the Lord; trust also in him; and he shall bring it to pass.

Psalm 37:25 – I have been young, and now am old; yet have I not seen the righteous forsaken nor his seed begging bread

Psalm 31:2 – Bow down Your ear to me, Deliver me speedily; Be my rock of refuge,
A fortress of defense to save me

Simple Illustration:- Sending a mail…sometimes we are reluctant to give the mail to the person who has the ability (the postman) to take the mail and complete the transaction by sending its’ destination. If we do not release the letter to the postman we would not get the desired results.

Have you been praying for something or someone, made prayer requests, read the word, have people pray for you but you feel as though your prayer isn’t being answered?

Faith is confirmed through our actions, Faith requires us to RELEASE the request to HIM alone to get a speedy return.

Uncertainty in one’s mind prevents you from releasing the burden. Sometimes we are afraid that God’s answer is different from what we want to hear.

HOW TO DEAL WITH UNCERTAINTY

(i)Hearing the Word – Faith comes by Hearing the Word

(ii)Knowing the word – We need to know that Jesus is the Author and Finisher of Our Faith

(iii) Practising Faith – For as the body without the spirit is dead, so faith without works is dead also (James 2:26)

Faith is activated by Commitment -Commit thy way unto the LORD; trust also in him; and he shall bring it to pass (Psalm 37:5) It is not only about coming to church, reading a scripture, leading the song service, God is committed to those who will commit to him.

Faith is motivated by Expectation – The same heard Paul speak: who stedfastly beholding him, and perceiving that he had faith to be healed Acts 14:9. The scripture speaks of a man who was impotent in his feet from birth, but Faith stirred in him and he believed and had Great Expectations to be healed and it is written that he “Leaped to his feet and walked”

GREAT FAITH UNDERTAKES GREAT THINGS. The greater your Faith the greater you will accomplish. Greater Expectation results in Greater Miracles & Greater Victory.

(Cast thy burden upon the LORD, and he shall sustain thee: he shall never suffer the righteous to be moved.Psalm 55:22)

Faith is the offshoot of love. Think about a father on the shore watching his child in the beach. The father cannot swim and the child is getting into difficulties. Love will motivate Faith to overcome his fear of not being able to swim to save his child.

God loved us that he gave his only begotten Son (John 3:16). Christ loved us that he died for us, Christ had Great Faith to go to the Cross for our sins. (Greater love hath no man than this that a man lay down his life for his friends John 15:13)

Today the Church lacks love and as a result the Church is filled with people of little faith. The Church is operating faithlessly. The focus is on having a fancy building and a big church but love doesn’t motivate the church to bring the unsaved into the church. The Church is selfish instead of Selfless. (True love worketh Faith. For in Jesus Christ neither circumcision availeth any thing, nor uncircumcision; but faith which worketh by love (Galations 5:6)

We need to examine ourselves when our prayers aren’t being answered. Do we lack Faith and is it because we lack Love?

WHEN DOES FAITH FAIL?

1)      Fear & distrust fill our minds. This has nothing to do with God. It is the inability to Let Go and Let God.

2)      When we cast our burdens on others – God has said “Pray ye one for another” but remember that there are limitations to what and how much we put on others. Our burdens should never start to oppress others. It must be used to encourage Brotherly Love. “If you send it to him alone, you’ll get a speedy return. (Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding (Proverbs 3:5).

3)      Picking up your burdens when you put it at the altar – When you go the throne of Grace with a request LEAVE IT THERE. If you pick it up, God cannot deal with it. For years people come to church with the same burden and our spirit man is heavy. “Drop it in and Let it Go”

4)      Double-mindedness – A double minded man is unstable in all his ways. God is Able to do Exceedingly, Abundantly and Above all our needs if we just leave it up to him. Numbers 13 & 14 – this scripture records the commandment given by God to go and possess the land of Canaan where milk and honey flows.

The faithless returned and gave a negative report saying the people there are like giants and are stronger than us…The faithless will see the obstacles and hindrances.

The report of the Faithful will always see God’s Grace and Mercy. (If the LORD delight in us, then he will bring us into this land, and give it us; a land which floweth with milk and honey. Only rebel not ye against the LORD, neither fear ye the people of the land; for they are bread for us: their defence is departed from them, and the LORD is with us: fear them not Numbers 14 8:9

The faithless will die, all those who have murmured against you will die in the wilderness (Numbers 14 29:37) and the Faithful will live (But Joshua the son of Nun, and Caleb the son of Jephunneh, which were of the men that went to search the land, lived still Numbers 14:38.)

Whose report will you believe? That of man or God’s? There is coming a time God will take you out of the desert and into the Promised Land. You need to put your Trust and Faith in him.

FAITH FAVOURS:-

(i)                 Those who cannot see – For we walk by Faith and not by sight (2 Corinthians 5:7). The Bible records the story of Bartimaeus, who was blind from birth. Crowds were waiting for Jesus to come. For the Faithful it doesn’t matter what your environment is, God will hear your voice in the midst of the noisy crowd. Bartimaeus cried out “Jesus Son of David have Mercy on me” Jesus heard his voice and was healed (And Jesus answered and said unto him, What wilt thou that I should do unto thee? The blind man said unto him, Lord, that I might receive my sight. And Jesus said unto him, Go thy way; thy faith hath made thee whole. And immediately he received his sight, and followed Jesus in the way. Mark 10:51-52)

If you cry out in Faith you are destined to come out of any financial problem, any sickness, any family problems. No problem is Greater than our God. “Lord Lead me to the Rock that is Higher than I”

(ii)               Those who can Pray, Request and Release – If God so takes care of the lilies of the field, how they toil not, Surely he will take care of you. “Be anxious for nothing” (Behold the fowls of the air: for they sow not, neither do they reap, nor gather into barns; yet your heavenly Father feedeth them. Are ye not much better than they? Which of you by taking thought can add one cubit unto his stature? 28And why take ye thought for raiment? Consider the lilies of the field, how they grow; they toil not, neither do they spin: And yet I say unto you, That even Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these. Wherefore, if God so clothe the grass of the field, which today is, and tomorrow is cast into the oven, shall he not much more clothe you, O ye of little faith? Therefore take no thought, saying, What shall we eat? or, What shall we drink? or, Wherewithal shall we be clothed?(For after all these things do the Gentiles seek:) for your heavenly Father knoweth that ye have need of all these things.  But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you. Matthew 6:26-33)

(iii)             Those who are Truthful and Just – Faith favours those who walk upright and take the command of God and not just come to church and be a Bible ‘toter”. It’s about Living the Life of a Believer. (For therein is the righteousness of God revealed from faith to faith: as it is written, The just shall live by faith Romans 1:17)

(iv)              Faith favours those who receive what God offers. The offers of God are everlasting, incorruptible and Greater than the offers of the World. (Lay not up for yourselves treasures upon earth, where moth and rust doth corrupt, and where thieves break through and steal: But lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust doth corrupt, and where thieves do not break through nor steal: For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also. Matthew 19:21)

I will cry unto the Lord and he shall answer me Speedily. Man will fail but my Jesus he never failed me yet.
