“The Position of a Beleiver in Human Governance”

Sunday 23rd May 2010- Pastor Mark Ballosingh

We as believers have the right to vote. God has given us wisdom to appoint a leader, we must not allow our judgement to be clouded by popularity of one Government. We must be under girded by prayer to make the right choice to promote Good Governance, to promote Governance which is line with what God has in store for us that men will consecrate themselves and worship God.

Revelation 19 11:17:- And I saw heaven opened, and behold a white horse; and he that sat upon him [was] called Faithful and True, and in righteousness he doth judge and make war. His eyes [were] as a flame of fire, and on his head [were] many crowns; and he had a name written, that no man knew, but he himself. And he [was] clothed with a vesture dipped in blood: and his name is called The Word of God. And the armies [which were] in heaven followed him upon white horses, clothed in fine linen, white and clean. And out of his mouth goeth a sharp sword, that with it he should smite the nations: and he shall rule them with a rod of iron: and he treadeth the winepress of the fierceness and wrath of Almighty God. And he hath on [his] vesture and on his thigh a name written, KING OF KINGS, AND LORD OF LORDS. And I saw an angel standing in the sun; and he cried with a loud voice, saying to all the fowls that fly in the midst of heaven, Come and gather yourselves together unto the supper of the great God;

Romans 13 1:7 Let every soul be subject unto the higher powers. For there is no power but of God: the powers that be are ordained of God. Whosoever therefore resisteth the power, resisteth the ordinance of God: and they that resist shall receive to themselves damnation. For rulers are not a terror to good works, but to the evil. Wilt thou then not be afraid of the power? do that which is good, and thou shalt have praise of the same: For he is the minister of God to thee for good. But if thou do that which is evil, be afraid; for he beareth not the sword in vain: for he is the minister of God, a revenger to [execute] wrath upon him that doeth evil. Wherefore [ye] must needs be subject, not only for wrath, but also for conscience sake. For for this cause pay ye tribute also: for they are God‘s ministers, attending continually upon this very thing. Render therefore to all their dues: tribute to whom tribute [is due]; custom to whom custom; fear to whom fear; honour to whom honour.

The Bible shows how Human Governance has failed from the beginning to the end. Every time man was given the authority to rule, he failed!

Adam and Eve were given authority to govern over the Garden of Eden with the instructions not to eat from the Tree of Life. The scripture records they failed as they were overcome by temptation.

The generation of Ham, out of Ham – Cush out of Cush – Nimrod. Ham looking at his father’s nakedness in his drunken stage was cursed and his entire generation was cursed.

It is recorded that Human Governance was first implemented by Nimrod. He taught the people how to defend themselves against the elements and how to establish cities. Nimrod was a smart man but he went on the wrong path, he was also referred to as a mighty hunter. But he moved from hunting animals to hunting souls. Sin was inherent in his generation, he married his mother and had a child. Nimrod established a kingdom based on reincarnation, secret societies (lodges) and free masonries. What Nimrod started back then still exists today in the Governments locally and around the world.

Nimrod filled and overcome with Pride worshipped himself as a God. Man is always trying to liken himself to God or to be Greater than God. God will judge!!! An account was given of Herod when he made the oration to the crowd exalting himself above God. Acts 12:23And immediately the angel of the Lord smote him, because he gave not God the glory: and he was eaten of worms, and gave up the ghost.

The church has become contaminated by those who exalt themselves higher than God, they have taken their eyes of God and also taken the congregation eyes off God to gain filthy lucre.  ” (Jeremiah 23 1:2) 1Woe be unto the pastors that destroy and scatter the sheep of my pasture! saith the LORD. 2Therefore thus saith the LORD God of Israel against the pastors that feed my people; Ye have scattered my flock, and driven them away, and have not visited them: behold, I will visit upon you the evil of your doings, saith the LORD.

Human Governance although instituted by God, God does not appoint the leaders. But he will judge the actions of those appointed as well as those in opposition. The purpose of Human Governance was:-

a)      To be moral

b)      To give preservation

c)      To enforce law and execute criminals

d)     To uphold law

e)      To establish and support humanity

f)       To give the highest good for all

There are 9 dispensations given in the Bible:-

1)      Angels – Pre-Creation

2)      Innocence

3)      Conscience

4)      Human Government

5)      Promise

6)      Law

7)      Grace

8)      Redeemed

9)      Faithful Angel

Human Governance has failed because people have rejected God.

Samuel was priest over the land. When he heard from God the answer was either “Yes” or “No” but the people were fed up and they wanted a Man to rule and not God. 1 Samuel 8 4:7 – Then all the elders of Israel gathered themselves together, and came to Samuel unto Ramah, And said unto him, Behold, thou art old, and thy sons walk not in thy ways: now make us a king to judge us like all the nations. But the thing displeased Samuel, when they said, Give us a king to judge us. And Samuel prayed unto the LORD. And the LORD said unto Samuel, Hearken unto the voice of the people in all that they say unto thee: for they have not rejected thee, but they have rejected me, that I should not reign over them.

They chose Saul the son of Kish who was out chasing his father’s donkeys. Isn’t it strange how we would turn our backs on God for someone out chasing after donkeys? Saul did what he wanted to do and did not seek after God’s will and disobeyed the voice of God. The account goes on to say Saul would be out of options in the battle against the Philistines and would seek after a woman of “familiar spirit” the sorceress raises up a demon resembling Samuel. The spirit gave an account of the death of Saul and his sons in battle. “Give no regard to mediums and familiar spirits; do not seek after them, to be defiled by them: I am the LORD your God” (Leviticus 19:31). “And the person who turns to mediums and familiar spirits, to prostitute himself with them, I will set My face against that person and cut him off from his people” (20:6).

We see certain Pastors endorsing different political parties and we allow compromise to taint the House of God. God is God all by himself.

Race and Politics have crept into the church causing division amongst the church. We are one body united under the mysterious Power of God.

The enemy uses this as a weapon to divide the church. Churches must come together as one to help guide the decisions of the Government.

Acts 4 31:32 And when they had prayed, the place was shaken where they were assembled together; and they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and they spake the word of God with boldness.

And the multitude of them that believed were of one heart and of one soul: neither said any of them that aught of the things which he possessed was his own; but they had all things common

Where there is no vision people will perish for the lack of knowledge. Our Independence or Status as a Republic will not save our country. Our country is still under the bondage of race..”I will not be shackled by the sins of my fore-fathers, I am a Child of God, washed in the snow cleansing Blood of the lamb”

We are ever learning but never coming to the knowledge of God. 2 Chronicles 7:14 If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land

Righteousness Exalts a Nation

2 Timothy 18:10 But we know that the law is good, if a man use it lawfully; Knowing this, that the law is not made for a righteous man, but for the lawless and disobedient, for the ungodly and for sinners, for unholy and profane, for murderers of fathers and murderers of mothers, for manslayers, For whoremongers, for them that defile themselves with mankind, for menstealers, for liars, for perjured persons, and if there be any other thing that is contrary
