Isaiah 40:25-31 To whom then will ye liken me, or shall I be equal? saith the Holy One.26 Lift up your eyes on high, and behold who hath created these things, that bringeth out their host by number: he calleth them all by names by the greatness of his might, for that he is strong in power; not one faileth.27 Why sayest thou, O Jacob, and speakest, O Israel, My way is hid from the Lord, and my judgment is passed over from my God?28 Hast thou not known? hast thou not heard, that the everlasting God, the Lord, the Creator of the ends of the earth, fainteth not, neither is weary? there is no searching of his understanding.29 He giveth power to the faint; and to them that have no might he increaseth strength.30 Even the youths shall faint and be weary, and the young men shall utterly fall:31 But they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint.
We are living in a time where strength is failing. The opposite of strength is weakness….when we look around we see a lot of weak people. In the scripture it says even the young shall faint 30 Even the youths shall faint and be weary, and the young men shall utterly fall: Today even in the church people are becoming weak. The Bible says “the Lord is the source of our strength”, He is the nucleus of our very being without God in our life our strength fails.
Our strength is laid on the foundation of God. The wise man built his house upon the rocks and the foolish man built his house upon the sand….when the rains came down the house on the rocks stood and the house on the sand fell down. It doesn’t take a lot in the world to weaken us, the devil comes to shake us to see what foundation we stand on. The foundation of anything is what makes its’ strength. When everything around us is falling you can choose to stand on a sure foundation on a solid rock.
When our strength fails in the physical we rely on medicine and vitamins to strengthen our bodies. Just as our physical body needs things so does our spiritual man. Faith is what we need to strengthen the spiritual man. Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen Hebrews 11:1. Our faith is built through the Word. We need to continually pray, communicate and communion with God to build our faith.
The Bible says when you have done everything to stand continue standing, but if you are weak how could you stand? Sometimes we look strong on the outside but we are weak inside. The devil eats away at our inside, the devil will get to your roots to weaken you, but the Bible says “He giveth power to the faint; and to them that have no might he increaseth strength Isaiah 40:29, “I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me. Philippians 4:13.
It’s time to shake the devil off, shake off the negativity, shake off your sickness, shake off your trials and plant your roots in the living water, the song writer says “just like a tree that’s planted by the waters, I shall not be moved. When our strength is ebbing low, we can ask God for strength Psalm 119:28 My soul melteth for heaviness: strengthen thou me according unto thy word..
When we use the Word it adds strength to our life. The Word is life and light to them that believe, now is not the time to grow weak it’s time to grow strong in the Word.
How strong is our God?
– Numbers 11:23 And the Lord said unto Moses, Is the Lord’S hand waxed short? thou shalt see now whether my word shall come to pass unto thee or not.
The Lord answered “Is my hand too short?” The arms of the Lord are never too short, His eyes roveth to and fro, He neither slumbers nor sleeps.
– Psalm 18 – It is God that girdeth me with strength, and maketh my way perfect.33 He maketh my feet like hinds’ feet, and setteth me upon my high places.34 He teacheth my hands to war, so that a bow of steel is broken by mine arms.
The Psalmist David speaks about his failing strength in a time of war, but David thanks God for the strength He gave to him, when the devil thought it was over God lifted him up and gave him strength.
In the battle between the Israelites and the Amalekites, Moses lifted his hands to God and the Israelites would be winning, every time his arms dropped the Amalekites would be winning. God quickened in the hearts of the Israelites to put a stone under Moses and hold up his arms. From the rising of the sun to the setting of the sun, the Israelites battled and won, God gave Moses strength through the battle.
The devil knows there is danger when you begin to worship. God says I will give you strength to rise up and fresh strength to defeat the enemy.
Fear is the enemy of Faith and Faith is the source of our strength. If your faith diminishes and you become weak the devil has you on the run. We need to be strong in the Lord, for perfect love casteth out all fear. “Fear be gone, Faith step in” The Bible says The LORD is my light and my salvation; whom shall I fear? the LORD is the strength of my life; of whom shall I be afraid? Psalm 27:1.
The Lord speaks to Joshua “Have not I commanded thee? Be strong and of a good courage; be not afraid, neither be thou dismayed: for the LORD thy God is with thee whithersoever thou goest” Joshua 1:9. When everything is falling , God will give you the strength to stand, God says “I will go before you, I your God will fight on your behalf, I will hide you in my secret pavilion”
In the midst of it all when you are feeling weak it is the devil working on your mind to make you feel weak, the mind is the battlefield of the enemy, once the devil wins your mind he has won 99% of the battle. 1 Corinthians 10:13 There hath no temptation taken you but such as is common to man: but God is faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted above that ye are able; but will with the temptation also make a way to escape, that ye may be able to bear it. – God is faithful, He will not allow you to be tempted more than you can bear. You may be going through trial and temptation but God will not leave you there, if He brought you in it He will bring you through it, you will go through the fire and not be touched. God has prepared a way of escape.
Lean on God in the midst of your weakness. When people get weak they lean on all kinds of things but God promises He will give us strength and wings to rise up like eagles But they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint. “Isaiah 40:31”
Nehemiah 8:10 Then he said unto them, Go your way, eat the fat, and drink the sweet, and send portions unto them for whom nothing is prepared: for this day is holy unto our Lord: neither be ye sorry; for the joy of the Lord is your strength. says “…….know that the joy of the Lord is your strength.
Take off the cloak of heaviness and put on the armour of praise, stand strong on the foundation of God.
