Matthew 14:22-26
22 And straightway Jesus constrained his disciples to get into a ship, and to go before him unto the other side, while he sent the multitudes away.
23 And when he had sent the multitudes away, he went up into a mountain apart to pray: and when the evening was come, he was there alone.
24 But the ship was now in the midst of the sea, tossed with waves: for the wind was contrary.
25 And in the fourth watch of the night Jesus went unto them, walking on the sea.
26 And when the disciples saw him walking on the sea, they were troubled, saying, It is a spirit; and they cried out for fear.

The disciples were in the perfect will of God, but they were struggling and Jesus commanded them and said “I will meet you on the other side.” The storms of life produce certain benefits and hidden blessings for the children of God. The Lord purposed these storms for a reason. Jesus came at the 4th watch (3:00am – 6:00am). He sent them on the other side and told them “I will come”. He came at the darkest hour. When you are faced with your darkest moment, God is with you.

Hebrews 13:5
5 Let your conversation be without covetousness; and be content with such things as ye have: for he hath said, I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee.
God is still there, regardless. He is still on the throne. God dwells in thick darkness. He comes in the face of darkness and disaster. God is never late. He is always on time. Jesus raised Lazarus four days after he died. He knows when the best timing is. The very thing you fear, God will show you he is greater than any storm. Be patient, hold on to the Lord. Every storm will bring you closer to the Lord and he is the great I AM, your rock, fortress, shield and buckler.

1 Kings 8:10-12
10 And it came to pass, when the priests were come out of the holy place, that the cloud filled the house of the LORD,
11 So that the priests could not stand to minister because of the cloud: for the glory of the LORD had filled the house of the LORD.
12 Then spake Solomon, The LORD said that he would dwell in the thick darkness.

Romans 8:28
28 And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose.

Storms are tests from God. The Saviour is revealed in a way we have never considered before. Jesus gave us a blessed assurance and peace beyond understanding. Put your trust in the Lord and be still and know that He is God. Be of good cheer. Jesus is in control of every area of life. When he comes, he brings a message of peace, of power and potential. Storms refine the saint, your faith will grow and reminds the saint who is God and how great He is.

Storms of life give us a testimony. Is Jesus in your boat today?
