1 Thessalonians 5:14-20
14 Now we exhort you, brethren, warn them that are unruly, comfort the feebleminded, support the weak, be patient toward all men.
15 See that none render evil for evil unto any man; but ever follow that which is good, both among yourselves, and to all men.
16 Rejoice evermore.
17 Pray without ceasing.
18 In everything give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you.
19 Quench not the Spirit.
20 Despise not prophesyings.
Rejoice evermore. There should be praise and worship in the house of the Lord. Be joyful at all times. When praises go up, blessings come down.
Reference Scriptures: Hebrews 13:15, Luke 10:20, 1 John 5:14-15, Matthew 21:22
Worship. ‘Prayer without ceasing’. Be prepared to pray at anytime. Set a specific time for prayer.
Thanksgiving. ‘In everything gives thanks’. Do not forget your blessings.
28 And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose.
Yield to the Spirit of God. Sometimes we stifle or ignore the Holy Spirit. We are supposed to obey. Sometimes you will feel to give a testimony to praise the Lord, to help someone. We must have openness to the Holy Spirit.
In our Christian walk:
• We must have Compassion
• Do not put down people, but lift them up.
• Comfort the feeble minded
• Support the weak
• Be patient to all
• Forgive all men
• Be epistles
Our life should be witness:
1 Thessalonians 5:22
22 Abstain from all appearance of evil.
Shine you light for all men to see. 2 Corinthians 3:2-‘Ye are our epistle written in our hearts, known and read of all men’. Christians who are radically different, people are drawn to them.
1 Peter 2:9
9 But ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye should shew forth the praises of him who hath called you out of darkness into his marvellous light
