Purpose of the Church

1st June, 2014

Rev. Mark Ballosingh

Purpose starts with decision and end with destiny. When you are saved, you now have purpose. Believers must be purpose driven and destiny focused.

The purpose of the Church –

  •  Preach, teach and baptize in the Father, the Son and the Holy Ghost. Reference – Matthew 28.
  • Warn folks about sin and judgment and to tell them to turn to Christ.
  • Prepare the saints of God for the coming of Christ. Luke 21:2828 And when these things begin to come to pass, then look up, and lift up your heads; for your redemption draweth nigh.

What prevents us from achieving our purpose in God –

  •  Jealousy – Numbers 5: 11–14 11 And the Lord spake unto Moses, saying, 12 Speak unto the children of Israel, and say unto them, If any man’s wife go aside, and commit a trespass against him, 13 And a man lie with her carnally, and it be hid from the eyes of her husband, and be kept close, and she be defiled, and there be no witness against her, neither mshe be taken with the manner14 And the spirit of jealousy come upon him, and he be jealous of his wife, and she be defiled: or if the spirit of jealousy come upon him, and he be jealous of his wife, and she be not defiled.
  • Envy – Proverbs 10:12 12 Hatred stirreth up strifes: but love covereth all sins.

Love was extended to Joseph by his father and his brothers became jealous. Jealously turns into hate. The brothers formed a conspiracy against the servant of God. Joseph’s father gave him a coat. The coat represented the father’s love for Joseph.

A man of purpose (Joseph) went through hardships. Even though he was place in the pit, his destiny was to be in the palace.

Whatever hardships you are going through, once your purpose in life is of God, God will see you through.

Special Anointing of the Holy Spirit

Rev. Mark Ballosingh
Sunday 2nd February, 2014

Isaiah 61
61 The Spirit of the Lord GOD is upon me; because the LORD hath anointed me to preach good tidings unto the meek; he hath sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives, and the opening of the prison to them that are bound;
2 To proclaim the acceptable year of the LORD, and the day of vengeance of our God; to comfort all that mourn;
3 To appoint unto them that mourn in Zion, to give unto them beauty for ashes, the oil of joy for mourning, the garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness; that they might be called trees of righteousness, the planting of the LORD, that he might be glorified.
4 And they shall build the old wastes, they shall raise up the former desolations, and they shall repair the waste cities, the desolations of many generations.
5 And strangers shall stand and feed your flocks, and the sons of the alien shall be your plowmen and your vinedressers.
6 But ye shall be named the Priests of the LORD: men shall call you the Ministers of our God: ye shall eat the riches of the Gentiles, and in their glory shall ye boast yourselves.
7 For your shame ye shall have double; and for confusion they shall rejoice in their portion: therefore in their land they shall possess the double: everlasting joy shall be unto them.
8 For I the LORD love judgment, I hate robbery for burnt offering; and I will direct their work in truth, and I will make an everlasting covenant with them.
9 And their seed shall be known among the Gentiles, and their offspring among the people: all that see them shall acknowledge them, that they are the seed which the LORD hath blessed.
10 I will greatly rejoice in the LORD, my soul shall be joyful in my God; for he hath clothed me with the garments of salvation, he hath covered me with the robe of righteousness, as a bridegroom decketh himself with ornaments, and as a bride adorneth herself with her jewels.
11 For as the earth bringeth forth her bud, and as the garden causeth the things that are sown in it to spring forth; so the Lord GOD will cause righteousness and praise to spring forth before all the nations.

Faith brings us to a place of revelation. Faith moves you to a next level so you can understand where God wants to take you. Isaiah was in a place where God was ready to bring revelation to him.

Believers of faith do not just have faith for today. Each step they know that the Savior will show them the way. God is holding our tomorrow. Do not worry about tomorrow. God is in control.

Faith and the anointing will help us to step out in boldness. This will make you let people know that Jesus cares about them. Jesus came to preach, to help the meek, broken-hearted and distressed.

You need to start declaring victory upon your life. You need to proclaim it. What is done for you by faith, share it with someone else. We as believers need to spread the word of God and let people know about Jesus. Jesus saves. We as Christians need to stop comprising and stand up for things that are in accordance to God.

When there is a Special Anointing of the Holy Spirit upon you, you will hear from God. The Holy Spirit will counsel you, guide you, command you, speak to you, show you your path, give you peace, show you things about others. When the Special Anointing comes upon you, you must obey.

Praise Rally – Having Faith in God

Rev. Mark Ballosingh
Sunday 26th January, 2014

Matthew 21:22 – 22 And whatever things you ask in prayer, believing, you will receive.”

1 John 5:1-4 – 5 Whosoever believeth that Jesus is the Christ is born of God: and every one that loveth him that begat loveth him also that is begotten of him.
2 By this we know that we love the children of God, when we love God, and keep his commandments.
3 For this is the love of God, that we keep his commandments: and his commandments are not grievous.
4 For whatsoever is born of God overcometh the world: and this is the victory that overcometh the world, even our faith.

The Bible says that the devil is the prince of this world. You need to know Jesus. The world wants you to fail. The Lord has given the power for victory and to overcome. Declare that God is in control in your life.

When Adam disobeyed God, he turned over ownership to the devil. If you love the world, the love of the Lord cannot be in you. Mark 8:36 – 36 For what shall it profit a man, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul?

Romans 12:2 – 2 Do not be conformed to this world,[a] but be transformed by the renewal of your mind, that by testing you may discern what is the will of God, what is good and acceptable and perfect.

Faith assists us in overcoming the world. Hebrews 11:1 Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen. When you reach out to God, God will reach out to you. Your faith will reach out and He will heal you and deliver you.

Isaiah 54:17- 17 No weapon that is formed against thee shall prosper

Dealing with huge mountains – Prayer and Fast

Minister David Bhraim
Wednesday 22nd January, 2014

When you are praying, find out what is your motive. You need to pray and believe.

We all have mountains in our life, but we need to pray about the huge mountains in this country – darkness. Say unto the mountain ‘Be thou removed’.

We need to pray against murder, rape, victimization, racism, corruption and witchcraft. We need to pray for our leaders in this country that they will be guided to make the right decisions. We need to pray that the unrighteous will turn away from their life of crime.

We need to pray and fast for our country, for the world and pray that darkness will be removed.

Faith to Move Mountains – Prayer and Fast

Minister Sterl Alexander
Monday 20th January, 2014

Psalm 35:13
13 But as for me, when they were sick,
My clothing was sackcloth;
I humbled myself with fasting;
And my prayer would return to my own heart.
Do not let the absence of an immediate answer cause you to resent God.

Fasting shows strength, courage and faith.

“Faith without works in dead”.

When you fast, you need to:
• Pray
• do it with power
• do it with wisdom
• be humble

Reference scriptures: Matthew 17:19, Leviticus 16:29

You must not only pray and fast for yourself, but also for others.

Favor from God

Rev. Mark Ballosingh
Sunday 19th January, 2014

Faith to move mountains. Matthew 21:22 – 22 And whatever things you ask in prayer, believing, you will receive.”

Reference scriptures – Luke 1:13, Luke 2:52, Acts 7:36, Ephesians 1:6

Favor/Grace is a commodity that is deserved, granted, an act of kindness, or approval.

The favor of God is dependent on your Faith. Faith is the position of re-positioning yourself in order to walk in the favor of God. You will have to rely on God and the Holy Spirit.

Faith is risk. Fear replaces Faith. Your place of comfort may not be your place of favor. In the place of favor, God will bring divine intervention.

God told Abraham to leave his place of comfort. He crossed boundaries, borders and territories. God promised Abraham that he will be the father of all nations.

When you walk in favor is not about you, it’s about God.

New Year’s Resolutions in 2014 – Praise God More

Pastor Jemma Jhilmit
Sunday 12th January, 2014

1 Thessalonians 5:14-20
14 Now we exhort you, brethren, warn them that are unruly, comfort the feebleminded, support the weak, be patient toward all men.
15 See that none render evil for evil unto any man; but ever follow that which is good, both among yourselves, and to all men.
16 Rejoice evermore.
17 Pray without ceasing.
18 In everything give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you.
19 Quench not the Spirit.
20 Despise not prophesyings.

Rejoice evermore. There should be praise and worship in the house of the Lord. Be joyful at all times. When praises go up, blessings come down.

Reference Scriptures: Hebrews 13:15, Luke 10:20, 1 John 5:14-15, Matthew 21:22

Worship. ‘Prayer without ceasing’. Be prepared to pray at anytime. Set a specific time for prayer.

Thanksgiving. ‘In everything gives thanks’. Do not forget your blessings.

Romans 8:28
28 And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose.

Yield to the Spirit of God. Sometimes we stifle or ignore the Holy Spirit. We are supposed to obey. Sometimes you will feel to give a testimony to praise the Lord, to help someone. We must have openness to the Holy Spirit.

In our Christian walk:
• We must have Compassion
• Do not put down people, but lift them up.
• Comfort the feeble minded
• Support the weak
• Be patient to all
• Forgive all men
• Be epistles

Our life should be witness:
1 Thessalonians 5:22
22 Abstain from all appearance of evil.

Shine you light for all men to see. 2 Corinthians 3:2-‘Ye are our epistle written in our hearts, known and read of all men’. Christians who are radically different, people are drawn to them.
1 Peter 2:9
9 But ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye should shew forth the praises of him who hath called you out of darkness into his marvellous light
